Momperisms, Thoughts and Continuous Self-Doubt

I write for a living. I write for fun. I write to clear the proverbial cobwebs in my brain. Which is why you're here .... either to read some of my samples (you're a business acquaintance), to read my human interest or humor stuff (you're a friend or curious onlooker), or to read my regular musings (you're bored and need something to fill your time). Whatever brings you here, I'm glad you found me. Enjoy your purpose, leave me a note, and come again real soon.

About A Birthday & Stevie Nicks

It's my birthday today. Some years I want to run and hide while screaming "NOoooo, NNNNNOoooooooo," at the top of my lungs like a mad woman. This year I woke up with a smile. Why? First of all, my radio alarm clock was playing Stevie Nicks when it went off at 6:10 this morning. If there ever was a good sign, that was it.

Secondly, I didn't have to cook one meal or do one load of laundry. This speaks for itself. I also had wonderful notes and calls from a bucket full of friends, which made the Stevie Nicks smile transition into a contented, "Wow I am so lucky" grin.
Thanks to Facebook, I had a record number of birthday greetings, which brought me enough warm and fuzzies to cancel out my regular milk and cookies routine this evening. On top of that, my husband and children presented me with a brand-spankin'-new Nook. Will I be glad? Time will tell. But it's charging as we speak, and I have a growing list of ebooks that are begging to be epurchased (ewahoo!).

After a dinner out, more personal phone calls and only a tiny existential moment (i.e. OMG, my life might be half over....you know the drill), I am now settling down for a birthday cupcake, which I did not have to bake. Does life get any better? For the moment, the answer is no.
